Sometimes change can be painless.
My trusty singlespeed is dying. It’s been ridden pretty much continously for the last 6 years and it’s starting to show. I’ve decided that Aviemore will be it’s last race (and 4th SS world champs). But that’s okay because Project New Black is underway and today I popped off to local framebuilder Chris Marshall to pick up my new chopped and dropped frame.
This one’s going to be special. A one owner low mileage Kona Kilaeua with Paragon Machine Works sliding dropouts for simplicity. So basically the same frame as the bike it’s replacing but with a disk mount at the back rather than the xtr v I’ve had to make do with
The only parts I’ve acquired so far are a pair of XTR 975 disk brakes and a pair of Easton CNT low rise bars. So while it’s off at the paint shop I’ve got some searching to do……

looks good, i used to have a cycle speedway bike chris built, out of interest how much do the paragons cost over here?
