It could have been Scotland here Yesterday..

What with the light rain first thing, freezing winds, sweating like a pig in the boiling sun, and finally having half of my beard frosted with snow on the last part of the ride… Fantastic day out! Got to ride the very fast alpine 5 Yesterday and Saturday. Did a good chest slap on the ground and gouged my leg.. Finally feeling human after man flu. ;]

Route Guide Fun

Monday, April 7th, 2008

After planning on doing a route guide for the magazine in Bristol, the Bristolian locals warned me that the legal trails in Bristol are a bit too serpentine and interrupted to follow, and some of the other great trails are a little too grey in legality. So the plan has been to move the focus a few miles north of the M4 instead to the Cotswolds. I’m going to be shown round by some of Saddleback’s finest (they’re the importers of Felt Bikes, among others). Should be fun.

Snow or not? We’ll see…

My head still feels ropey…

From last night bowling eating and drinking extravaganza. Mark and Sarah have pictures.. Woke up on the bathroom floor with bum showing and Tanya and Mark Cackling. woke up in bed with a bowl next to me and a toilet roll and a pint of water.

I never learn.

Mountain biking for a lot of people is seen as reversion to youth (all for the better I say!) Yesterday was Youth reversion +… Todmorden’s municiple park saw some Off Calderdales raddest riders try and learn to manual and wheelie properly. Now without wanting to blow my own trumpet I think i can ride a bit, but a decent wheelie has always escaped me, now with the help of David from Transcend Trail Academy I’m hoping I may have cracked the nut (with more practise of course).

As an aside if you are feeling stale with your riding, get some flat pedals and skateshoes and take your bike down the local park share some cider with the local groms and have a play, yesterday was one of the funnest days i’d had on a bike in ages, I’ve woken this morning with a slightly sprained ankle a puffy left knee and the urge to get better at tabletops again…
